Next is the E…

In the early 90s Moby had on a track on his instinct album called “Next is the E”.
This was when Moby was still in his electronic ravey phase, so naturally everyone assumed “E” meant ecstacy.
This is a pretty common misconceception, but it is in fact, a misconception. E really meant “everything”.
Moby, a rather intelligent and spiritually and socially aware person - was in his own way making a statement to the interconnectivity of all aspects of life, society, art, culture, the environment, and spirtuality. Later, Lauren Hill made the same statement - “Everything is Everything”.

You would think pop culture references to such concepts might have a subversive effect in the mental awakening of the masses. Unfortunately this is not the case.

I’ve been contemplating what it is exactly I want to do with this blog. What am I going to write about? What’s the point?
Given the issues that we face as a society, a nation, and as a species - I feel the best use of this time and space is to dive into some of the details that seem to be lost in the nuance of “Everything is Everything” and “Next is the E”. I think perhaps the deeper meaning behind the statement of these works was lost due to the fact that if you already understand the statement - you get it. If you do not, you don’t.

So this space will be a place where I shed light on the relationships of various aspects of life on earth. How art, politics, technology, and social norms come together to create what we like to think of as civilization, and how that civilization impacts the world, and more importantly our future.

I’m not exactly a writer - so it may be a bumpy road from time to time. I also have a tendancy to get off on rants re: things that annoy the living piss out of me. (First on the agenda in that regard is P.U.M.A. - stay tuned for that one). The underlying goal will simply be to bring to light the nuance and subtlety that is all too often overlooked in the 24 hour news cycle of sound-bytes and photo-ops.

testing testing… 1… 2…. 3….

Yea, so - finally doing something with my website.
Getting the wordpress themes figured out and such. We’ll see what’s up with this thing.
Tried this once before, decided it was too much work - and gave up.

The result was a site that hadn’t been touched from 2006 until today.

We’ll see how it turns out this time around.
